What are the National Cupcake Championships

The National Cupcake Championships are an annual competition to cement our love of cupcakes and is run alongside National Cupcake Week (15 to 21 September).
Cupcakes are popular as they tick alot of boxes, they are small so can be eaten with less guilt opposed to a full sized dessert, they are indulgent, a treat and are easily tweaked to enable you to be creative and enjoy innovative flavours.
In 2013 the competition was judged by Queen of Cake Mary Berry.
There is a professional competition and a home baking compettition with four categories in each classic, themed, made with alcohol and Free-from.
So will you be crowned the 2014 National Cupcake Champion?
